Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information ChangeAnyWhere ("we", "us", "our") processes when you use our website and the ChangeAnyWhere desktop application (the "App"). We minimize data collection: coordinates, saved places, and recent location actions remain on your Mac, subject to the map-service disclosures below.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
- Location history. We do not receive or maintain a server-side history of coordinates you select or simulate. Map tiles and search queries are exceptions handled by third-party map services as explained in Section 4.
- Payment card details. When checkout opens, payments will be handled by the payment partner identified on that checkout. We will not receive or store your full card number or payment credentials.
- Account passwords. The App has no account system of ours; access is granted via a license key.
2. Information Processed for Licensing
To activate and validate a subscription, the App communicates with the licensing provider identified at checkout and in the release documentation. This involves:
- your license key;
- a device identifier/name used to track activation slots;
- standard connection metadata (such as IP address) inherently visible to the API endpoint that processes the request.
Your license key and validation state are stored locally on your Mac in the system Keychain. Non-secret activation metadata is stored in a local application file readable only by your user account.
3. Information Collected at Purchase
When checkout opens and you buy a subscription, the payment partner shown at checkout will collect the information required to process the transaction, such as your name, email address, billing country, and payment details. Depending on the partner, it may act as Merchant of Record or payment processor, as disclosed before payment. It may provide us with order information such as your email address and subscription status so we can deliver a license and provide support. Its legal name and privacy policy will be linked at checkout.
4. Third-Party Map Services
The App displays maps and performs place searches using third-party map and geocoding services. When you run a search or load map tiles, your query and standard request metadata (such as IP address) are sent to those services to return results. Searches are only sent when you explicitly submit them. These services operate under their own privacy policies.
5. Website
This website is a static site. It does not use advertising trackers or set marketing cookies. It stores only your language preference in your browser. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (IP address, user agent, pages requested) for security and operational purposes.
6. Support Communications
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and the contents of your message. We use this information solely to respond to and resolve your request, and we retain support correspondence only as long as needed for that purpose and for our legitimate record-keeping.
7. How We Use Information
- To provide, activate, and validate your subscription and license.
- To provide customer support and handle refund or cancellation requests.
- To comply with legal obligations, prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
8. Data Retention
Order and licensing records will be retained by the provider disclosed at checkout according to its policy and applicable financial regulations. Locally stored license data remains on your Mac until you deactivate the license or remove the App and its data. Support emails are retained only as long as reasonably necessary.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights regarding information we hold, contact us at the address below. For information held by a payment partner, we will help direct your request or you may contact the partner identified on your receipt.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
11. International Transfers
Our service providers, including the payment partner selected before launch and map providers, may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, such transfers rely on appropriate safeguards under applicable law.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be announced on this website.
